Some news was expected to be heard from Steve Jobs in May about a new Apple TV version. It’s been very silent around this product for a long time now. Some even thought, that Apple pushed back from the TV business.
But therefore the market is much too interesting, seeing for example the activities of Google TV with its start of the new service Leanback just the other day. Don’t forget, TV in the US is a 30 billion dollar ad market … And there is a lot of money to earn, if someone gets control over the TV’s in the living room.
Now NewTeeVee blogger Ryan Lawler is reporting that Apple is indeed working on a new version of Apple TV, as sources say that the software company will look to push a new streaming rental service that will offer up individual TV episodes for 99 cents.
