Update: Watch the 30 minute documentary

For the first time in the 30 year history of Shell Eco-marathon Europe, a special TV broadcast of the event will air on prime time on Eurosport this coming weekend. The 30-minute programme will follow the progress of the runners and riders in this year’s event and highlight the extraordinary achievements of young, aspiring engineers and their efforts to address the energy-efficiency challenge. It will be broadcast in 20 languages to 133 million homes across 54 countries.

The broadcast is supported by a six-part mini-series which goes behind-the-scenes with teams on the Road to Rotterdam as they design, build and make improvements to their cars. You can watch the first four episodes again here. Two additional episodes will air in June.

The Shell Eco-marathon Europe 2014 programme will air during Giro d’Italia coverage on the channel this weekend in Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Swedish & Turkish.
